Welcome to the Yang Group

Materials and Nano-Transport Phenomena Lab

who we are

The Materials and Nano-Transport Phenomena Lab is led by Dr. Assist. Prof. Yizhou Yang. We are passionate about small-scale transport phenomena inside nanostructured materials, e.g. covalent organic frameworks (COFs). By combining chemistry and engineering strategies, we develop materials with versatile built-in nanochannels for the diffusion of electrons, ions, molecules, photons, etc.

What we do

The study of the dynamic process of diffusions at the atomic level gives fundamental insights into the transport kinetics of different particles. By mixing multiple transports at the nanoscale, we aim to enhance the interactions among the dynamic streams for the applications of future artificial intelligence and sustainability technologies. Our specific work spans a wide range of areas, including molecules, materials and devices.

Molecules

We design and synthesize molecules with targeted structures in various dimensions. The fomred organized molecular systems enable efficient transports on molecular level.

Materials

Materials engineering are applied to shape researched compounds into different states with high continuity, enabling transportings happpen in the long range.

Devices & Infrastructures

Different transporting behaviors are coordinated in the materials for serving technologies such as bioelectronics and green transistion of carbon dioxide.
